Ondo NANS Leaders Lifes End in On Owo's Road.

Akure- Ibadan expressway is blocked by FUTA STUDENTS. they blockd d road due tothe  loss of their SUG President to motor accident. Police are on ground but cannt do anything achieveable

It was a deadly Friday as the trio of the students’ union leaders and students of the Federal University of Technology Akure, Adeyemi College of Education Ondo and the Ondo State School of Midwifery were killed in a ghastly motor accident near Emure Ile along Owo road on their way from a best governor award ceremony organized by a faction of the National Association of Nigerian Students NANS in Abuja for Dr. Olusegun rahman Mimiko.

The names of the victims have be provided as the presidents of the student unions of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (Dapo Awopegba); Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo (Abiodun Akintola); and Ondo State School of Midwifery.

They died in a lone accident at Emure Ile junction on the expressway on Friday, according to the spokesman for the state police command, Aremu Adeniran. The police attributed their death to over-speeding. Nothing was said about the deplorable condition of the highway. The Emure-Ile junction had claimed other lives before now.

They were travelling in a bus donated to them by Mimiko.
Their corpses have been deposited in a morgue while others who sustained injuries are receiving treatment at the Federal Medical centre, Owo.

The avoidable death is coming in the wake of continuous bastardization of the original ideals of the founding fathers of NANS.

Adeniyi Osadipe, a 200 level student of the Federal University of Technology Akure lamented the death of the students and advised fellow students to stay away from politicians as much as possible. He lamented the state of the Nigerian roads whch is the result of the wickedness of the politicains and questioned why any student should put himslef in harm’s way to honour such politicians with underserved awards.

“This is really sad and who knows the diabolical things these politicians do?

That road has claimed several lives in the past. I’d advise all students to stay in their schools and shun these politicians. This is so sad” he added.

NANS like every other association in Nigerian has become highly politicized that it has turned into a ready and willing tool in the hands of politicians. The organization is reputed for taking stand against the masses in support of government’s draconian policies. One of its key pastime is to organize award jamborees for Nigerian government officials.
ikujuni Adebiyi said I sincerely feel for the families of the victims may God give them eternal rest and let not this type of accident happen to any of our youth again. I will advise our students to take a serious note of this and face their primary purpose of attending a higher institution, which is for learning not for making cheap money from desperate minded politician by identify with them or participating in any politics of such. from Ondo State to Abuja by road is a high level of risk for a student who should be on their campuses studying hard to become our future hope, just see this now they died for no serious reason.

I sympathise with their parents. PARENTS WARN YOUR CHILDREN!
