Just like the experience of some landlords along Orile-Badagry in Lagos few years ago, some landlords in Ibadan are feeling the same heat now.According to reports, the Oyo State government is demolishing the mansion to make way for its proposed 8-lane road.
The mansion which boasts of a fully equipped standard
audio and
visual studio, two multi-purpose halls, an internet radio station
(www.ayefelefreshfm.mobi) and several other offices, has are over 80
employees working there.
According to Yinka Ayefele’s publicist, the singer was not given any
prior notice about the planned demolition and he was shocked to hear
about it.
However, the singer went ahead to church where he was billed to
perform and did so without betraying any emotions as he was said to be
in a state of disbelief.
If the singer followed the laid down rules and regulations in
acquiring the land and sighting his edifice upon it, it is expected that
the government would do the right thing by compensating him adequately
because N200 million is no child’s play. Beside, if he is not
compensated, his source of livelihoood as well as those who work under
him would have been dealt a massive blow.
