TO ALL LADIES AND WIVES

One thing I have understood over time is that, where you don’t build, is always difficult to have a sense of belonging. I have a very beautiful damsel that I was always telling to buy me something whenever she was returning from work. But now, I don’t think I need to remind her again. I try as much as possible to double if not triple what ever she brings on her arrival. God forbid! We are not competing. Competition is not love. But we have to train ourselves to understand that true love is based on sacrifice.

It is not what she brings in the evening for me that makes me who I am. But, it has helped the relationship in terms commitment, confidence, communication and

TO ALL MEN AND HUSBANDS

Power is good. Our ego is fantastic. I have mine too. My beautiful damsel knows that too well. All men need it to lead a home and not to control. It takes a man who has ego to properly take care of his lady/wife. He will always want to foot the bill and go the extra mile for his damsel. So, show me a man whose lady lacks confidence of herself, then I will point to you a man who has failed in ego management. Power without control, equals a disaster. That is why that transformer is stationed at the corner of your street. We are the head no doubt. No body questions that. Anyone who wants to challenge that will have to raise litigation against God. But, uneasiness lies on the head that wears the crown. And the crown on the head of a king is not for fashion parade, but for responsibility. So, at times, I will rather have you a follower.

And He that must lead must first follow (Mathew 20:26). That

COURT ORDERS PRESIDENT MURSY TO GO BEHIND BARS

A top Egyptian court has ordered that the ousted Islamist president, Mohammed Morsi, be officially detained pending charges that he collaborated with the Palestinian militant group Hamas to escape from jail during the Tahrir Square uprising of early 2011.
The announcement, made through Egypt’s state owned news agency, comes just hours before rival demonstrations by supporters and opponents of Mr Morsi that have raised fears of fresh street violence.
It is the first official news of Mr Morsi since he was taken into military custody at an unknown location on July 3, after refusing the army’s ultimatum to

MADRID TRAIN ACCIDENT REPORT RELEASED. DEATH TOLL REACHES 80

The death toll from the July 24 rail crash in northwest Spain reached 80 people, making it the country’s worst such accident in more than 40 years. Questions were raised about the train’s speed.
The train carrying 218 passengers on the Madrid-Ferrol route derailed at 8:41 p.m. local time as it entered a bend on the outskirts of the city of Santiago de Compostela in the Galicia region, state-owned rail company Renfe said. I WILL RAISE A PROTEST AGAINST AN EARLY MARRIAGE FOR OUR GIRLS---PASTOR AYO ORITSEJAFOR

In a statement read, Pst Ayo, “As the leader of Christians in Nigeria, he is particularly irked by the statement credited to Senator Ahmed Yerima, a former governor of Zamfara State to the effect that the proposal for the deletion of section 29 (4) (b) is at variance with Islamic Law. The President of CAN finds that argument offensive because “it presupposes that Nigeria, a secular state, is populated only by Muslims.
“Yerima is again, advertently stirring up another controversy about the supremacy of Islamic Law to the Nigerian constitution after the one he raised when he introduced Sharia, the Islamic Legal code, in Zamfara State. I think the problem is that people like

2012 BEAUTY PERGENT: NIGERIANS REACT

In the just concluded 2013 beauty per gent in Bayesa, reactions have continued to trail in as a result of the level spending that went into the show. Many saw it as A waste of public fund which they believe could have been diverted into something more meaningful like health, poverty eradication initiative etc. Others did not find it so funny especially those from spiritual ends of the country. They see it as a show of nudity and immorally which they believe led to cancellation of the  world beauty per gent in Zamfara State some years. What is your take on this??

I CAN GIVE MY DAUGHTER OUT FOR MARRIAGE AT AGE 6. SANI YERIMA REPLIES CRITICS

"Nigeria has many uncountable problems and none of them is early marriage. As a matter of fact early marriage is the solution to about half of our problems. For those who wonder if I can give my daughter(s) out in marriage at the age of 9 or 13, I tell you most honestly, I can give her out at the age of 6 if I want to and its not your business. This is because I am a Muslim and I follow the example of the best of mankind, Muhammad (PBUH).

In Islam, marriage is not only about sex, it is about family and helping one another in achieving their goals, which is the attainment of

A NORWEGIAN SENTENCED TO PRISON IN DUBAI AFTER REPORTING RAPE TO POLICE

Norwegian businesswoman Marte Deborah Dalelv was sentenced to 16 months in prison for extramarital sex after she reported being raped, according to news reports from the United Arab Emirates.
A Norwegian woman sentenced to 16 months in jail in Dubai for having sex outside marriage after she reported an alleged rape said on Friday she decided to speak out in hopes of drawing attention to the risks of outsiders misunderstanding the Islamic-influenced legal codes in this cosmopolitan city.
The case has drawn outrage from rights groups and others in the West since the 24-year-old interior designer was sentenced on Wednesday. It also highlights the increasingly frequent tensions between the United Arab Emirates' international atmosphere and its legal system, which is strongly influenced by Islamic traditions in a nation where foreign workers and visitors greatly outnumber locals.

WE ARE AGAINST CHILD MARRIAGE PROPOSED BY SANI YERIMA

With a sense of dignity and responsibility, the entire board of this media outfit (Local and International Issues) and all concerned Nigerians, we say NO to the proposed bill by Senator Sani Yerima in support of marriage for  under age children. This is barbaric and highly unacceptable. We join the entire meaningful Nigerians to reject and condemn this bill in totality.

If they are not allowed to vote, why should they be allowed to have sex. If some quarters are tired of sleeping with adults, it is high time they went for animals and not destroy the future of our children. They need books and not sex. They need children's day and not mothers' day. PLS LET US SHARE THIS IN ONE VOICE BY SAYING NO TO UNDER AGE MARRIAGE.

TRAYVON MARTIN COULD HAVE BEEN ME 35 YEARS AGO--OBAMA

Barak Obama used an unexpected speech at theWhite House to personally address the debates over race relations that have convulsed America since George Zimmerman was acquitted over the shooting of the unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin.
In remarks immediately interpreted as the most expansive comments on race since he became president, Obama said the US was still not "a post-racial society".
"You know, when Trayvon Martin was first shot I said that this could have been my son. Another way of saying that is: Trayvon Martin could have been me

AN OPEN LETTER TO PROF WOLE SOYINKA BY A GRIEVED PERSON

I bring you greetings from Port Harcourt.Fortunately, from my location, no hippos are in sight.
Your place in history is securely established. You are one of the very few that have been consistent through the decades in your stance. Every regime since independence has felt your bold presence. Your mastery of words is extraordinary…so good that people are afraid of replying you (for fear of exposing their lingual deficiency – by the way, I face that risk too). Prof, you are one of the few that excelled both in the academic world and the audacious realm of activism. At my age, you were already declared an enemy of the Nigerian state for daring to stand hand in hand with truth.

DEATH TOLL ON THE RISE AS STUDENTS FEED ON INSECTICIDE IN INDIA

The Indian school poisoning scandal claimed another victim as it emerged that a number of official warnings about safety standards in the free meals scheme had been ignored by local officials.

At least 23 children in Bihar state have now died after eating a dinner believed to have been contaminated with insecticide, with another 25 receiving treatment. Many succumbed so quickly that they died in their parents’ arms on the way to hospital.

As parents yesterday buried 21 of the dead – aged between four and 12 – outside the Navsrijit Primary School school in a mark of protest, a political

WHY WE SHOT MALALA---TALIBAN COMMANDER

Malala Yousafzai
A prominent Pakistani Taliban commander has written a letter to Malala Yousafzai -a teenage girl shot in the head by the group, expressing regrets that he didn't warn her before the assassination attempt that propelled her activism to the international stage.

The letter from Adnan Rasheed, however, didn't apologize for the October attack that left Malala Yousafzai gravely wounded. Rasheed, who has close relations with Taliban leaders, only said that he found the shooting "shocking'' and wished it hadn't happened.

Rasheed said he would leave it up to God to decide whether

QUEEN ELIZABETH II APPROVES GAY MARRIAGE

Britain has legalized gay marriage after Queen Elizabeth II gave her royal stamp of approval.
House of Commons Speaker John Bercow told lawmakers that the royal assent had been given Wednesday – the day after the bill to legalize same-sex marriage in England and Wales cleared Parliament.
The queen's approval was a formality. It clears the way for the first gay marriages next summer.
The bill enables gay couples to get married in both civil and religious ceremonies in England and Wales. It also will allow couples who had previously entered into a civil partnership to convert their relationship to a marriage.

ZIMMERMAN'S HEART WAS IN THE RIGHT PLACE--JUROR

One of the jurors who acquitted George Zimmerman said she had "no doubt" he feared for his life in the final moments of his struggle with Trayvon Martin, and that was the definitive factor in the verdict.
The woman, who was identified just as Juror B37, spoke exclusively to CNN's "Anderson Cooper 360" on Monday night. She is the first juror to speak publicly about the case.
She said she believed Zimmerman's "heart was in the right place" the night he killed Martin, but that he didn't use "good judgment" in confronting the Florida teen.
"I think George Zimmerman is a man whose

FUNKE AKINDELE MARRIAGE COLLAPSES?

As it is commonly said that every big truth starts from a
little rumor. Is this one of those lies, only time time will tell. We were able to gather from an unconfirmed source that the last year society wedding between the popular actress, Funke Akindele(Mrs Oloyede) and Mr Kayode Oloyede has come to a dead end as a result of an issue that was regarded as irreconcilable between the couple. That according to her husband,

GENERAL PROTEST IN THE US OVER ZIMMERMAN'S FREEDOM

With chants and prayers, sermons and signs, outrage over a jury's decision to clear George Zimmerman in the shooting of an unarmed black teenager poured from street protests and church pulpits on Sunday amid calls for federal civil rights charges to be filed in the case.

Demonstrations large and small broke out across the country - ranging from a few dozen more than a thousand - in support of the family of Trayvon Martin as protesters decried the not guilty verdict as a miscarriage of justice.

The NAACP and protesters called for federal civil rights charges against Zimmerman, who was acquitted on Saturday in Martin's February 2012 shooting death, which

ZIMMERMAN: I ACCEPT THE JURY'S VERDICT-- OBAMA

President Barack Obama on Sunday waded back into the racially charged Trayvon Martin case, making clear that he accepts a jury’s acquittal of neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman in Martin’s death and calling for calm reflection.
Zimmerman’s acquittal has sparked new calls — from members of Congress to civil rights leaders — for the Department of Justice to intervene and possibly pursue charges. A statement from the Department of Justice late Sunday afternoon said federal prosecutors will evaluate the evidence and decide whether intervention is warranted. But in a statement released nearly 18 hours after the jury’s verdict, Obama made no mention of the Justice Department.

“I know this case has elicited strong passions,” the president said. “And in the wake of the verdict, I know those passions may be running even higher. But we are a nation of laws, and a jury has spoken.”

Obama’s unusual statement at the conclusion

HOW TO TURN DOWN AN OFFER YOU HAVE ALREADY ACCEPTED

Hi Pat,
I’m a marketing director who moved to a new city about three months ago for my partner’s job. Since then, I’ve been looking for a new job (luckily, I have had the flexibility to wait for one that is a great fit).
In a nutshell, I went through several rounds of interviews with a company that I loved (let’s call it Company A)—until the hiring manager dropped off the face of the Earth and wouldn’t return my follow-up emails. I figured the door was closed there, so I kept interviewing other places and ended up being offered and accepting a different position—one I liked almost as much.
Literally three days later, Company A called, profusely apologizing for the delay and offering me the position. I truly think this is a better fit for me in

AL-MUSTAPHA'S FREEDOM: WE ARE DISAPPOINTED BY JUDICIARY-- ABIOLA'S SON

After about 14years of being in prison as a suspect over the murder of the late Kudirat Abiola, the court of appeal turned down the judgement of Justice Mojisola Dada of the Lagos High Court in Lagos, who declared a death sentence on the former Chief Security Officer of the late General Sunni Abacha, Hamza Al-Mustapha after accusing the judge of being “stroked to secure a conviction by all means.” The accused was discharged and acquitted.

But the younger Abiola made it known on Friday that he was “disappointed, but not particularly surprised by the judgement.”
“I pray that God will forgive my mother and I know that my mum and dad will definitely get justice; maybe not in Nigeria, but I’m sure that Allah will give them justice where they are.”
He said, “The Appeal Court only completed the work of other courts before it that have played roles in scuttling the family’s quest for justice in this matter. They finished the job, but they weren’t the ones who started it.
“We had seven or so defendants before now with

THE APC AND ITS SUICIDAL PDP DANCE OF SHAME----JAPHETH OMOJUWA

JAPHETH OMOJUWA.
The jury did its job and has since gone to sleep on
the Peoples Democratic Party. The question now is not whether the party is guilty as charged; the question is about the length of its punishment. The crux of the matter was how much the PDP had failed Nigeria. The defendant, the PDP, claimed it has had only 14 years and several trillions of naira to change Nigeria, but the 112 million poor Nigerian souls insisted the PDP had to go. The jury decided and granted the wish of the Nigerian masses.
The PDP has failed Nigeria! It failed us yesterday, it is failing as we speak and it has borrowed enough money to get the future of our children started on the path of failure. Some political parties fail you today but they offer you hope of success against tomorrow, the PDP fails you today with enough doom and gloom to last into many tomorrows. Anyone who argues against this will one day argue whether an above-the-law petrol cabal truly deprived Nigerians of trillions of naira

BIN LADEN MASSACRE: REPORT CRITICIZES US AND PAKISTAN

Osama bin Laden's compound in Abbottabad

Pakistan failed to detect Osama bin Laden during the six years he hid in Abbottabad because of the "collective incompetence and negligence" of the country's intelligence and security forces, the official report into the killing of the al-Qaida chief in 2011 has concluded.
The much anticipated report, a copy of which was obtained by al-Jazeera, is withering in its criticism of Pakistan's dysfunctional institutions, which were unable to find the world's most wanted man during his long stay in a major Pakistani city.
"It is a glaring testimony to the collective incompetence

3 STEPS TO NEGOTIATING A START UP JOB OFFER

by
You’ve always wanted to live the startuplife, and now, that reality is closer than ever: You have an offer from a start-up.You’ve done your research, have a passion for the company, and know the risks. But now, you have to weigh the compensation. Is there any leeway with an early-stage company? Can you get a little closer to your current value in the corporate marketplace?
Sure—if you negotiate.
Every offer is negotiable. It’s all in the strategy and how badly you want the job you’ve been offered. But this isn’t your standard Fortune 500 negotiation. You’re not angling for more vacation time or the corner office by dangling mad skills in front of the recruiter. And you won’t do well by comparing the start-up offer to your fancy corporate job, either.
Instead, put yourself in those startuplife shoes and negotiate an offer that’s fair and makes sense for the type of business you’re about to join. Start-up job offers are meant for candidates who are willing to take the risks—salary, career, and benefits—for a long-term pay-off.
On that note, here’s what to consider before you open those negotiations.

1. Know the Numbers

As a job seeker, you likely researched the company before interviewing, but you didn’t have the data an offer provides. Now that you know, you’ll want to validate the package you’re being offered.
Start-up compensation varies widely, so do some research on how it compares with salaries for similar positions at similar firms (i.e., if you currently work for a big company, don’t compare the offer to what you’re making now). You can also

EGYPT COUP: WHERE MURSY GOT IT WRONG

Mohamed Morsy, Egypt's first democratically elected president, has been ousted from office just over a year into his presidency.
Deposed by the military and reportedly held under house arrest, Morsy's fall from power has been nothing if not rapid.
Egypt's powerful military stepped in July 3, hours after a deadline the generals had set for Morsy to order reforms expired.
The military's intervention followed days of opposition protests, during which hundreds of thousands of people massed in Cairo's Tahrir Square and elsewhere to demand that he step down and call fresh presidential elections, or face a campaign of civil disobedience.
The news of Morsy's downfall prompted further mass street demonstrations, with both his opponents and his supporters turning out to celebrate, or protest, his ouster.

Morsy, who is backed by the Muslim Brotherhood, Egypt's oldest and best-organized political movement, insists he remains the country's legitimate leader.
As the deadline neared, he offered to form an interim coalition government to oversee parliamentary elections and revise the constitution that was enacted in January.
But Egypt's top military officer, Gen. Abdel-Fatah El-Sisi, said he "did not achieve the goals of the people" and had failed to meet the generals' demands that he share power with his opposition.

So where did it all go wrong?
A strict Islamist educated in southern California, Morsy was elected Egypt's president in June 2012 after a campaign focused on appealing to the broadest possible audience.
But critics say he became increasingly authoritarian and

DEEPER LIFE WEDDING: 6 THINGS THAT WENT WRONG

Many people wondered what could have gone wrong with the recent wedding of one of the sons of the General Overseer of the the Deeper Life Bible Church, especially some of us that belong to the so called free or crazy for Jesus settings kind of environment. What is really wrong with this image? Is it the gown, make up, etc? But an average Deeper Lifer knows best and what is actually wrong with the image. In our quest for answer, we were able to gather some facts in the wedding that didnt go down well with the authority of the church that made the newly wedded couple to publicly apologize to the leadership of the church. BREAKING NEWS: COUP: EGYPT PRESIDENT MURSI IS GONE

Egypt’s military has ousted the nation’s Islamist president,
replacing him with the chief justice of the Supreme Constitutional Court, calling for early presidential election and suspending the Islamist-backed constitution.
Army chief Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi, in a televised address to the nation on Wednesday, said a government of technocrats will be appointed to run the country during a transition period he did not specify.
An aide of ousted President Mohammed Morsi, Ayman Ali, said the former leader has been moved to an undisclosed location. He gave no details.

WILL EGYPT GO DOWN THIS WAY AS 48HOURS DEADLINE LOOMS??

President Mohamed Mursi rebuffed an army ultimatum to force a resolution to Egypt's political crisis, saying on Tuesday that he had not been consulted and would pursue his own plans for national reconciliation.
The Islamist leader described as potentially confusing Monday's 48-hour deadline set by the head of the armed forces for him to agree on a common platform with liberal rivals who have drawn millions into the streets demanding Mursi's resignation.

Members of his Muslim Brotherhood have used the word "coup" to describe the military manoeuvre, which carries the threat of the generals imposing their own road map for the nation.
But in a statement issued at nearly 2 a.m., fully nine hours after General Abdel Fattah al-Sisi delighted Mursi's opponents by effectively ordering the president to heed the demands of demonstrators, the president's office used considerably less direct language
