A
Five Man disciplinary committee set up by the Zonal Executive Chairman
of the All the All Progressives Congress (APC) has recommend the
expulsion of the National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Timi Frank from
the ruling party.
The
committee headed by Hon. Solomon Edojah said it relied on Article 21 D
(h) (ii) and (iii) of the party’s constitution to recommend for Frank’s
expulsion from the party.
Timi Frank has been a major critic of the National Chairman of APC, John Odigie-Oyegun and has repeatedly called for his sack.
In
a petition written by one Aniekan Akpabio, Timi Frank
was alleged to
have made several embarrassing statements against his own party.
In
the copy of the committee’s report made available to our Source. the
committee stated that since Timi Frank failed to appear before it to
answer the petition written against him, it has no choice than to rely
on the Prima Facie evidence tendered by the petitioner consequent upon
which the committee decided that he should be suspended from the party.
“However,
since the committee is not a father Christmas, it has no choice than to
rely on the Prima Facie evidence tendered by the petitioner. Consequent
upon which, the committee hereby recommends as follows:
1. That Timi Frank be suspended from the party forthwith in line with Article 21 D (f).
2.
The Zonal executive committee should recommend to the NEC for the
expulsion of Timi Frank from the party in line with Article 21 D (h)
(ii) and (iii).
We
recall that the feud between Timi Frank and the National Chairman, John
Odigie-Oyegun stated that the former has no right to speak on behalf of
the party after Lai Mohammedn the ex while spokesman of the party was
appointed Minister of Information and Culture by President Muhammadu
Buhari.
Recently,
there have been reports from different quarters that the party was
planning to appoint former minister of Sports and Youth Development,
Alhaji Bolaji Abdullahi as substantive Spokesman of the party.
