CHALLENGE: IT EITHER BREAKS YOU OR YOU BREAK RECORD.

We who stand on the sidelines of life see the overwhelmingly large numbers who go down in defeat, never to rise again. We see the few who take the punishment of defeat as an urge to greater effort. These fortunately, never learn to accept life’s reverse gear. But what we do not see, what most of us never suspect of existing, is the silent but irresistible power which comes to the rescue of those who fight on in the face of discouragement. We call it PERSISTENCE. ----Napoleon Hill.

Challenges do not leave men where and how they meet them. But create something to remember and be remembered for by whoever goes through them. They will always leave stories for you to tell. It will either break a man or cause him to break record.

It has rendered many dreams powerless, converted great visions into televisions, brought the so called mighty men on their kneels as babies, laughed at plans and mocked great goals. Even with this, it has also caused many names to be written in GOLD. When we talk of electrical power today, the name that rings bell is Thomas Edison while Isaac Newton propounded the laws of motion. American human right movement history cannot forget Matins Luther King. The political history of India cannot be complete without the role of Ghandi. It will be highly unfair if Nelson Mandela does not have his place in the political history of South Africa. These were men once full of challenges at a particular point in time in their lives, but they chose to break records in the process because they never threw in the towel.

The quality and size of your dream is not measured by the end point result. But by the means to the END. This can be regarded as a Challenge. That is why you must go through the story of Erma Bombeck. Erma Bombeck traveled a road that filled with adversities, starting with her career. She was drawn to journalism early in life. Her first job was as a copy girl at the Dayton Journal Herald when she was a teenager. Then she went off to college at Ohio University of Dayton. In 1949, she graduated with a degree in English. Soon afterward, she began working as a writer for the Obituary column and the women’s page.
That year adversity carried over into her personal life. When she got married, one of her deepest desire was to become a mother but much of her dismay, her Doctor told her she was incapable of having children. Did she give up and consider herself failure? No. she and her husband explored the possibilities of adoption. In which they adopted a daughter. Two years later, a surprised Erma became pregnant, but only two of the babies survived. In 1964, Erma was able to convince the editor of a small neighborhood newspaper, Kettering-Oakwood Times to let her write a weekly humor column. Despite the $3 per article she was paid, she kept writing. And that opened a door for her. The next year she was offered the opportunity to write three times-a-week column for her old employer. By 1967, her column was syndicated and carried by more than nine hundred newspapers. During that time she published fifteen books and it was recognized one of the twenty-five most influential women in America. She appeared frequently on the television show. “Good Morning America”, was featured on the cover time magazine, received innumerable honors and was awarded fifteen honorary degrees.

But during that span of time, Erma Bombeck also experienced incredible troubles and trials, including breast cancer, a mastectomy and kidney failure. And she was not shy about sharing her perspective on her life experience. “I speak at college commencements and I will tell everyone I am up there, not because of my success, but by my failures. A comedy record album that sold two copies in Beirut,  a sitcom that lasted about as long as a donut in our house, a Broadway play that never saw Broadway,…Book signings where I attracted two people-one who wanted direction to the rest room and the one who wanted to buy the desk. What you have to tell yourself is, I am not a failure, but only failed at doing something”. There is a big difference—personally and career-wise, it has been a corduroy road. I have buried babies, lost parents, had cancer, and worried over kids. The trick is to put it all in perspective…..and that is what I do for a living.”

Have you ever wondered why God put your two eyes in the front of your head and non at the back? It was done, so that you would not have any reason to go back. God is always interested in his children moving forward especially in the presence of challenges. We must learn to rise, dust ourselves and move on. One of the reasons why the children of Israel could not make it to the promise land was because they forgot their minds in Egypt. They could remember their cattle, clothes, jewelries etc, but their minds were left behind. That was why they kept making references to Egypt whenever they come in contact with challenges.

The gimmick of a challenge is that, it can deceitfully substitute what you really want in life to something else and still make you feel partially fulfilled. It is a deceit. You might have just been robbed. Do not take this for that .Go for what you want. You can break record if you do not give up. This is why you are human. That challenge is not destined to overcome you. It starts from the rehabilitation of your mind. Even God needs a particular state of mind to bless you. It was not the day David confronted Goliath physically that he actually killed him. He had killed Goliath long time in his mind the day he asked the people of the kind of prize that shall be given to the man who killed the Philistine. He had already killed him in his mind before the exhibition day. The prize motivated him with his trust in the name of the Lord. Then, he broke a record. The wars of destinies are firstly won on the drawing board of the mind and not on the field. George W. Bush, former president of the United States, killed Sad am Hussein of Iraq firstly right from the White House.

Friend, that challenge must not kill your DREAM or substitute it for something else. You must not loose the focus of the end point of that dream that gives you joy. For the joy that was set before him……HE ENDURED (Heb 12 .1-3).Begin to see opportunities in all challenges. Many have lost their dreams and more will still do. But I see you taking a different stand. Please note, you must go with the name of the Lord. IT EITHER BREAKS YOU OR CAUSES YOU TO BREAK RECORDS.

Is Juventus dreaming of Vanpesie?

Juventus director general Beppe Marotta has described the possibility of signing Robin van Persieas a “dream” but suggested that the Bianconeri would be unwilling to pay an astronomical fee for him. Van Persie, 28, revealed two weeks ago that he would not be signing a new contract with Arsenal and it is believed the Gunners will attempt to cash-in on their captain rather than let him leave North London on a free transfer when his current deal expires next summer.
Manchester City, Manchester United and Juventus have all been strongly tipped to make a move for the Netherlands striker, who scored 37 goals in 48 games last season, and it is Turin that is widely reported to be his favoured destination.
But while Marotta admits signing Van Persie would be a major coup for the Serie A champions, he insists the club will be realistic in their negotiations.
“It’s necessary to always have dreams and ambitions, but at the same time you also have to contend with the reality of everyday facts,” Marotta said when asked about Van Persie at a Lega Calcio meeting.
“We’re relaxed and we know what we have to do. This is the most important thing.”
Marotta also ruled out the possibility of shelling out €30 million on Fiorentina star Stefan Jovetic, saying: “It’s an unmanageable figure. We’re not even going to discuss it right now.
“Everyone is free to set the price they want. It’s a legitimate right. But we haven’t opened negotiations with Fiorentina.”

Ademola Aderinto died following anonymous call – Police . It is true?

The coroner’s inquest into the death of Ademola Aderinto, killed during January anti-fuel subsidy removal protests in Lagos, continued on Wednesday, with a police officer testifying that he received a distress call about hoodlums terrorising residents. Steven Onwe, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), who was attached to the Radio Control Room of the State Police Command, said the anonymous caller did not say that the group were protesters.
“I received an anonymous call that hoodlums had taken over at Yaya Abatan (area),” he said.
On January 9, 2012, while street protests against the removal of fuel subsidy were ongoing across the state, Segun Fabunmi, a Chief Superintendent of Police, allegedly shot and killed the deceased, at Yaya Abatan area in Ogba.
Fabunmi was, at the time, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Penn Cinema Police Station.
In his deposition, Onwe stated that “the voice call repeatedly call (sic) the police hotline that the situation was getting out of hand.”
“That I also directed the DPO Penn Cinema about the distress call receive (sic) by anonymous voice. That how the DPO carried out this operation is not known to me, as my job does not include operation.”
However, Onwe said there was no recording of the voice conversation with the anonymous caller, when asked by C.R. Chiwenze of the Access to Justice, a Lagos-based human rights organisation, acting as a party interested.
“No, I don’t have recording of the phone call received,” he said.
Onwe also said that there was no recording of the message passed across to the police officers.
Previously, the Investigating Police Officer, Olumide Alagbe, while giving evidence at the hearing police, insisted that Fabunmi had accidentally killed the deceased when his team was attacked by hoodlums.
The coroner, Tajudeen Elias, adjourned the case to July 25, 2012, for further hearing.

Fashola to Lagosians: Call me on 08034301122 on Gawat’s whereabout

By MONSUR OLOWOOPEJO
IKEJA—Governor Babatunde Fashola, yesterday, appealed to Lagosians who have information regarding the whereabouts of Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, presenter, Alhaji Razaq Gawat, to urgently come forward with such.
Fashola, who made the appeal, in an interview with newsmen, said such information will aid the investigation by police and the state government on the issue.
The governor noted that the success of any investigation by the police is based on information provided by the residents of the state, adding “anyone who brought any useful information that could lead to the finding of the missing person would be substantially rewarded.”
He said: “I am optimistic that we will find him. I urge everybody to remain hopeful that we will find him. I know the police are working. They have some useful information that they are sharing with me. We are pursuing the leads, it may take time. We are checking every information.”
“Anybody who has any information that may lead us to him, let us know. My number is 08034301122”.
Reiterating his call for useful information, Fashola, who also urged the people to remain calm, further assured, “I know that the police are working hard at the leads that we have picked up. Everybody who has reason to believe that he (Gawat) could be here or there must help us. Call 767 or 112 emergency toll free numbers to inform the security agents.”
The Lagos State Police Command has said it is investigating the case.
The command’s spokesperson, Ngozi Braide, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said: “The case was that of missing person and not kidnap.”
Investigation so far, according to police sources, show there was no sign of struggle where his vehicle was found at Apongbon end of Eko Bridge. The car, sources said, was neatly parked.

THE SNAIL AND CRAB GENERATIONS

“If I can’t have it, neither can you”
This may not be directly proportional, but to a large extent, it is true. That how far a man will go in life has a significant correlation with the environment he resides and the kind of people he is surrounded with. This determines his level of exposure, accessibility and mental reasoning. In other words, your location could be a determining factor of your allocation. This is deduced from the life style of snails and crabs.

Do you know that if you keep ten snails and crabs in two different opened baskets overnight, on getting there in the morning, you would find non in the snails’ basket, while the ten crabs will remain intact in that of crabs? It looks like a misery, but that is the truth. You can give it try. This is because, by nature, an average snail aids the freedom of another. They do this by not interfering in the liberty and progressive movement of one another. They may be slow, but always on the move. But the crabs live in a world of rivalry, jealousy, hatred, envy, and insecurity. As one tries to escape, others pull it back down with their claws. They do this continuously until fatigue sets in and they see no reason for freedom. Misery loves company as the saying goes.
Unfortunately, we find things like this where we live, work place, in the family and even in our worship centers. Any nation or environment where things of this nature prevail does not develop. Africa and the Western world have remained what they are today, just because of their different ideologies for life. Africa operates on the negative side of competition. How many Nobel Laureates, Pulitzer winners and patent rights do we have in Africa? Very few.Competition becomes negative, if it is seen as a threat to our individual or collective growth and development rather than a challenge to improve on ourselves.
The right parameter in measuring a superman is not how long he can hang on top of the ladder, but staying down and holding same for others to rise. This is what makes you a superman. This is the mentality of snail-like people. Nobody succeeds among crabby people. Every one of them feels threatened and insecured by the achievement of others. It is a company of mediocre and insecured people. You got to find your way out of their midst before that dream and potential are destroyed. As many of them who had access to the king’s delicacies faded away except those who distinguished themselves with just vegetables and water.
There is fulfillment, freedom and happiness among those with snail mentality. This is how God expects us to live. The question is, how many people have become great through you help? Remember, He was loosing life and still gave life to the thief by his side. God bless you.See you at the top. Jesus is Lord.

IF YOU JOIN ILLUMINATI, YOU WILL LAND IN HELL----PASTOR TOLD D BAN'J

Before now, it was being speculated that top Nigerian music star, D’Banj has joined the illuminati group. This perception may have been imagined as a result of D’Banj being signed to Kanye West’s G.O.O.D Music label.
During the Mohits’ troubled time, it was insinuated that both Don Jazzy and D’Banj fell apart due to illuminati issues. With the Kokomaster’s (as D’Banj is also known as) romance with Kanye West and the Jay Z’s clique got stronger, more people believed that D’Banj was already into the world’s renowned cult group.
Last week Thursday, July 12, 2012, D’Banj was in Lagos for a special prayer service organised for Nigerian celebrities to avert sudden death among them.
The call was made by Pastor Wole Oladiyun, the Senior Pastor of Christ Living Spring Apostolic Ministry (CLAM), Ogba, Lagos.
A source close to the senior pastor reliably told Nigeriafilms.com that D’Banj was warned by Pastor Oladiyun not to join or be associated with illuminati. We were told that the pastor gave D’Banj this stern warning when he had a chat with him.
He was quoted to have told the ‘Oliver Twist’ singer, “don’t join illuminati if you don’t want to go to hell fire”, the source told Nigeriafilms.com.
We also reliably gathered that D’Banj had a short performance at the service, where he sang his ‘Olorun Maje’ song.
The Illuminati cult was founded on May 1, 1776, in Ingolstadt (Upper Bavaria) as the Order of the Illuminati, with an initial membership of five, by Adam Weishaupt. He was the first lay professor of canon law at the University of Ingolstadt.
The cult was made up of free-thinkers as an offshoot of the Enlightenment and seems to have been modeled on the Freemasons.
The Illuminati’s members took a vow of secrecy and pledged obedience to their superiors. Members were divided into three main classes, each with several degrees, and many Illuminati chapters drew membership from existing Masonic lodges.

Police arrest debtor for slitting varsity student’s throat over a N50,000 debt

Ekiti State Police Command has arrested Mr. Kayode Adewumi, who allegedly killed a student of Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, Mr. Boluwaji Olarinoye, over a N50,000 debt.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr. Victor Babayemi, confirmed the arrest of the suspect to our correspondent in Ado-Ekiti on Monday.
The PPRO said, “We have arrested the suspect. He is in our custody now and is cooperating with us in our investigation. Very soon, we will charge him to court.
“He ran away to Lagos State but through the cooperation of some people and intelligence, we were able to arrest him from his hideout.”
Olarinoye was said to have lent Adewumi, his friend, N50,000 but he refused to pay when the deceased asked repayment.
It was learnt that when Olarinoye insisted on collecting his money, Adewumi invited him to his residence and an argument ensued.
Adewumi allegedly slit Olarinoye’s throat and cut him all over his body with a machete.
Although Olarinoye was rushed to a hospital, PUNCH Metro learnt that he died shortly after.
The incident, which happened on Friday night in Erijiyan-Ekiti, threw the community into pandemonium.
The incident, it was gathered, angered some youths in the town who pursued the suspect but could not catch up with him.
In anger, the youth went back to the suspect’s residence and set it ablaze after other residents had fled.
The deceased was said to have lent Adewumi the money, which was part of his school fees, with the hope that he would repay before the commencement of the second semester examination.
It was learnt that Olarinoye had to miss the examinations as he could not pay his school fees

Nollyhood star,Femi Adebayo(Oga Bello's son) dumps wife after three kids

According to a report by Metronews, popular Yoruba actor, Femi Adebayo, who incidentally is the son of veteran Nollywood actor, Adebayo Salami known as Oga Bello has eventually dumped his wife and three kids for another woman.
It was reported that Femi, who is well known as ‘Jelili, has now found love in a beautiful lady identified as Moji.
The report said that Femi’s marriage to his wife, Khadijat became stormy last year, but only recently left his matrimonial home leaving his three kids behind. He was said to have rented an apartment around Iwo Road, Ibadan.
The report further said that Moji now parades herself as Femi’s ‘first lady’ and she’s seen with him at his drama school and other places. She is said to be a regular visitor to Femi’s new house.
According to the report, effort to reconcile his family has yielded no fruitful result. The cause of his marriage break-up with Khadijat is still uncertain, but friends of the estranged couple are doing everything possible to seek spiritual help in settling the problem, as it was reported.
You will recall that Femi’s marriage survived a reported Funke Akindele’s intrusion few years ago. It was reported that it took the effort of Femi’s father, Oga Bello to make Femi come mellow down on his reported romantic affair with Funke Akindele, who is now married.
Interestingly, Femi’s brother, Sunkanmi got married on Saturday, July 6, 2012 in Ibadan, which he attended.

Sustaininng Relevance

“God created and left development for men”
Every modern society and great organizations we see today, have direct relationships with innovation or renovation. Innovation simply means to create something new, while renovation is an act of improving on what has been created to make it look like innovation. This is one of the major assignments of man. God did not invent aero planes, ships, vehicles, air conditioners etcetera. Men did. What God did was to create the material resources in the ground, sea and in the air for man to develop them.
Every man has the power and capacity to create or renew whatever has been created from the resources available. Even though I do not encourage the word COMPETITION, because I believe everyone is unique in his/her own make up. But it seems every relevant thing we can see around us today survives around it. For every Moses, there is a Joshua somewhere. Every Eli must not be carried away because Samuel is by the corner watching and for every Nokia product, Samsung, Motorola,Apple etc stand as threats. This is why renovation must be sustained if we must be first choice in all our endeavors. It could be on our job, talent, skill, business, academics, relationship etcetera.
You do not necessarily need to be perfect in your delivery. All that you need is excellence. Excellence is not synonymous to perfection. It simply means “just stay above your closest competitor or contemporary even if it is just an INCH”. No sane person will leave something superior for the inferior. Then you will become the most sought after.
Some giant organizations we see today have been in existence for over five decades because excellence has been properly managed while some could not sustain it for 2 years.
No employee should go into the new year with an old resume if he/she must be relevant.

How do you sustain relevance?
1, Know your strength and the one of your closest competitors or contemporaries and how far they can go.( This is where constant research work comes in)
2, Always add value to your product or whatever that makes you relevant.
3, be informed because knowledge is power.

The best people, staff, service, skill, products are not necessarily perfect but excellent. Go in this might.

NCC arrests bank manager over unregistered internet band

By DAYO JOHNSON
AKURE—A manager with a first generation bank in Akure, Ondo State was, weekend, arrested by the National Communication Commission, NCC, over the use of unauthorised internet facility.
Consequently, the officials of the commission shut down the unauthorised internet link of the main branch of the bank.
The action of NCC officials resulted in long queue on the bank premises and at the ATM machines.
Speaking newsmen after the arrest and shutting down of the internet, Head of the team, Mr. Efosa Idehen, said the internet link being used by the bank was not licensed for it.
Idehen said: “If the bank wants to use the link, it should approach NCC for licence instead of tapping into it without clearance from the Federal Government.”
This, he said has denied the government necessary revenue from the sales of the band.
He, however, noted that “it might not be the fault of the bank for flouting the rule; they should, however, find out from their internet provider before they use any band.”
Idehen noted that “we found this bank transmitting on that frequency band. As at now, they have shut down the link, we have asked them to remove the outdoor and the indoor unit and bring them to the police station. We are going to the police station now to continue the exercise so that we can document it.
“They are there because of the licensable frequency; we don’t want them to be there at all. It belongs to the Federal Government.
“You have to have a licence to transmit on that band, they don’t have a licence or probably the person they are buying for does not have a licence for that band. If they have a licence, when we come here to monitor we know that the band that has been sold or licenced.”
He said they had been to 23 states where banks or financial institutions that violated the regulation of the Federal Government were either shut down or have their operations disrupted.pls share and like our fan page(local and international issues on facebook in order to serve you better) tx

Report a begger in Dubai and win a prize

Dubai Police along with several key civic departments have announced a concerted effort to stamp out illegal beggars this Ramadan.
At a press meet in the emirate on Sunday, the Department of Criminal Investigation in Dubai announced a plan that sought the help of residents of the emirate as well to cope with what officials described as “seasonal begging.”
The police have divided and colour-coded neighborhoods and have also defined concentration of beggars in certain areas, their nationalities and their methods.
For the first time, the campaign involves cash prizes to those who report beggars in the emirate. The prize will be determined according to the degree of cooperation and the significance of the report,” said the director of the tourism security division, Colonel Mohammed Al Muhairi, who heads the campaign.
“The aim of this reward is to encourage the public to cooperate with the police and protect their emirate from this bad phenomenon.”
In the first six months of 2012, 201 men and 63 women were arrested for begging.
“Beggars take advantage of Ramadan and go to mosques and markets to ask people for money.
“We will concentrate on these areas, as well as residential areas, where police patrols will make their rounds especially during peak times,” said Col Al Muhairi.
The campaign runs until the end of the Eid Al Fitr holiday, and over 60 police patrols will take part in the campaign, which covers residential areas all over Dubai, as well as mosques, shopping malls, markets, petrol stations and parking lots.
In 2011 657 beggars were deported, while during last Ramadan, 168 beggars were deported.
Brigadier Khalil Ebrahim Al Mansouri, Head of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at Dubai Police also encouraged residents not to give money to children who beg as it saves them from exploitation.
“People who have limited resources or face difficult situations in the UAE can contact any of the authorised charity and humanitarian organisations, who will study their individual cases and offer them help in a legal and safe manner,” he noted.
“Many thieves take begging as a cover for their activities. They just knock at doors, pretending to be beggars. When no on answers, they rob the house. Other beggars resort to innovative ways to win the sympathy of people during Ramadan such as changing the features of their bodies so they will look as if they have a handicap,” he told the paper.
Residents are urged to report beggars on the 800243 hotline.
Sharjah campaign
Sharjah Police also have a dedicated toll-free number 065632222 to report cases of begging in all its forms.
Residents can also report illegal car washers in public streets, street vendors, people who use their houses to display products, and loitering and other actions.
Sharjah Police also called on the public to display a sense of tolerance and maintain the sanctity of Ramadan.

2 Boko Haram suspects arrested by youths

By: ABDULGAFAR ALABELEWE, Kaduna
SUNNEWSONLINE — The killing of a 20-year-old innocent boy was all the youths needed in confronting three gun-totting Boko Haram members who invaded Rigasa and Mahuta, a suburb of Kaduna metropolis yesterday. The brave youths arrested the two suspects, aged between 17 and 22, who had gone to the compound of the District Head of Afaka, Alhaji Abdulwahab, in a bid to kill him. The Boko Haram members were bearing an AK-47 rifle at the time they invaded two neighbouring Rigasa and Mahuta communities on a motorcycle at 9a.m.
Also, in what seemed like divine intervention, an attempt by the sect to bomb a branch of Living Faith Church (aka Winners’ Chapel) in Okene, Kogi State failed yesterday as the bomb went off at the main gate.
In the Kaduna incident, an eyewitness said, “the gunmen came and said they were looking for the ‘Hakimin Mahuta’ (District Head of Mahuta), disguising as members of his subjects. So, when they allowed them into the house, the ‘Hakimin’ was not comfortable with them, so he ran back inside.“The suspects ran after him and shot at him severally, but their shots missed him, instead a small boy, Nura was hit. When they discovered that the ‘Hakimin’ had escaped through the back exit, they came back outside and picked their bike and trailed him to Mahuta.”
On getting to Mahuta, the three gunmen started shooting sporadically, but the youths dared them. They moved nearer, even as they were firing at them. An elder in the community, who identified himself as Mallam Abdullahi, told our reporter that “the young gunmen came on a bike and started shooting, but having discovered that, our youths were ready for them, they started withdrawing into the bush and the youths were closing in on them with bare hands”.
According to Abdullahi, “at a point, their bullets got finished and they loaded another round of ammunition, but despite that, the youths were able to apprehend two of the three gunmen, while the last one ran away.” Abdullahi, however, said that although, they shot seven of the youths, who were being treated at some undisclosed hospitals in Kaduna, but none of them died.
Speaking on the action of the youths, the Mahuta Ward Head, Alhaji Yusuf Muhammed Mahuta, said the community had long resolved to collectively rise up against terrorists and jealously protect every member of the community against hoodlums. He assured that the community will go after the fleeing suspect, no matter how powerful he is. Also, the District Head of Afaka, who escaped death by the whiskers, confirmed the incident to Daily Sun on phone. He said: “I was attacked, but God saved me.
“A 20-year-old boy was killed in the process. And I also heard that they attacked Mahuta community. I also saw the boys who wanted to kill me after their arrest by Mahuta youths”, he said. Confirming the incident, the police spokesman for Kaduna State command, DSP Aminu Lawal, said, “two gunmen were arrested by residents of Mahuta community near the National Eye Centre in Kaduna today (Sunday).”
“The two gunmen in the process shot and injured seven residents of the community during the face-off. They are now receiving treatment at the hospital,” said Lawal. He thanked members of the community for their vigilance and quick response which led to the timely intervention of the Joint Task Force, made up of the military and the police. In Kogi State, Daily Sun learnt that an explosion occurred when the suspected car conveying the bomb targeted at the Living Faith Church was prevented from entering the premises by the security.
