Somebody said, why the noise against Fashola? What about the PDP governors that stole Billions? Then I asked him a simple question. " Will you not correct your children if they misbehave just because your neighbors' children acted exactly same way yesterday"? He just kept quiet.
The major problem of Nigeria is not the activities of miscreants we see on our streets. It has nothing to do with ignoramus who prefer to sell their votes for a penny or that young hoodlum that carts away ballot boxes at every election.
Nigeria's problem is her elites, civil society, the lawyers, elder statesmen and including some of those called men of God. They have always failed in telling the truth. They go to their dinner, book lunch, dedication etc but never bold enough to tell these office holders the truth. They choose those they call thieves and those they refer as saints.
They can easily castigate Gov Ayodele Fayose, nail James Ibori to the wall, organise a press conference against Alamieyesia etc but they find it comfortable wining and dining with obvious and corrupt robbers before their eyes.
They even went a mile by championing that any public officer can steal as long as he is working. That is how eroded mindsets have been and yet they want corruption to disappear from our system.
In as much as we are not permitted morally and legally to call anyone a thief until the court says so, the entire world are still waiting for the response of the former Governor of Lagos State in respect of this alleged scandal.
I do not know about you. I want a Nigerian society where you will do my work very well. Yet! you will not steal my money. The President through the EFCC should step in in this case for posterity sake.
Nothing as sweet as saying the truth.
God bless Nigeria
